14-19 Agenda

The agendas aim is to transform secondary and post-secondary education so that all young people achieve and continue in learning until at least the age of 18:

The white paper set out the governments proposals for an education system focused on high standards and much more tailored to the talents and aspirations of individual young people, with greater flexibility about what and where to study and when to take qualifications.

These proposals will
• Tackle low post-16 participation (participation at 17 to increase from 75% to 90% within ten years;
• Ensure that every young person has a sound grounding in the basics of English and maths and the skills they need for employment;
• Provide better vocational routes which equip young people with the knowledge and skills they need for further learning and employment;
• Stretch all young people; and
• Re-engage the disaffected.

PSHE

The PSHE curriculum covers:
• Developing confidence and responsibility and making the most of their abilities
• Preparing to play an active role as citizens
• Developing a healthy, safer lifestyle
• Developing good relationships and respecting the differences between people
• Breadth of opportunities

The Win At Life programmes support the student in meeting all of these objectives. Whilst we appreciate that in the majority of cases students in partnership with a quality educator are capable of meeting all of the above objectives, there are occasions where time and availability of the educator on a 1-2-1 is limited and this is where we are able to compliment your partnership enabling the above objectives to be met.

We would be more than happy to answer any queries you may have and to discuss your specific requirements.
